I was recommended by a friend to approach Lloyd when planning my retirement home in Plettenberg Bay.
I had also approached other Architects at the time, but after reviewing work that Lloyd had done as well as a one-on-one meeting, I felt that Lloyd was somebody that I could comfortably interact and work with.
I would consider myself a very particular client and had very specific ideas on what I wanted to achieve.
Having built two previous homes I did have a fairly good understanding of the processes involved.
Lloyd was at all times accommodating of my needs and never tired of my incessant calls, meetings and requests to hone the process until it was exactly the way that I was hoping.
The fact that I could deal with him specifically, and not be swallowed up in the cogs of a large corporate architectural firm, was invaluable.
Half way through the build, I threw a major curve-ball in his direction by requesting a major underground addition to the project.
Lloyd took this in his stride, and gave invaluable input on achieving this.
Lloyd possesses immense talent and vision, and ended up designing a magnificent home for me and my family.
I have had numerous friends comment on what a beautiful home we have and the extraordinary thought that has gone into it.
It is timeless and inspiring, and I would highly recommended Lloyd for any project that you may be planning or dreaming about.

We were uncertain about building a new home at the time, but looking back, it was one of the best decisions we ever made.
My wife and I came from Taiwan and English is not our mother tongue. We first met Lloyd in 2011 and we found it very easy to communicate with him. After that we completed our loved home in Ballito, KZN in 2014.
Lloyd was very professional, patient, responsible and helpful throughout entire process from sketch design to occupation, because he always understand our personal needs and the final results exceeded our expectations.
It was an enjoyable experience to build our home with Lloyd and we really enjoy living here.

We selected Lloyd as our Architect because of his beautiful existing designs and his fantastic demeanour.
From the outset he understood our requirements and embraced our ideas.
He has a natural sensibility to the environment of the building and understanding of what would compliment and be complimented by the surroundings.

We have been working with Lloyd for just over 18 months now.
The experience has been amazing. Lloyd's work ethic and intense focus on our project has been excellent.

Very challenging, as the home is not the norm and we have really pushed Lloyd to think out of the box and deliver new and innovative ideas, which he has done way and beyond our expectations.

By a stroke of luck, a social media image of one of Lloyds house designs caught our eye. Over the following few years and two new house builds, Lloyd not only became our architect, but also a trusted advisor given his unbelievable attention to detail not to mention diligence to have work done to a high standard.
For context both of our house builds were built to Lloyd’s design and specification in Simbithi Eco Estate, one of the premiere gated communities based around an 18 hole golf course on the north coast of Durban, South Africa.
On our first build I found myself well out of my depth dealing with the process of designing and building a house and I can’t speak more highly of Lloyds guidance through the process.
It’s hard to explain the fine balance between budget, we were on a strict one, and building something as aspirational as we were after, this was done to perfection.
Having lived in the house post build the practicality of the design became apparent and to this day we have fond memories of this house as our first “forever home”.
Significant changes in our lives saw us in need of selling our dream home and this is where the beauty of Lloyds house design really came to bear fruit enabling us to achieve a reasonable premium over similarly appointed houses in the area. There is zero doubt in my mind that Lloyds design work vs. others we reviewed more than paid for themselves on this project.
Round two began a few years later with the desire to build again, with the benefit of hind sight we appointed Lloyd far earlier on in the process, where he assisted me in evaluating our lot selection based on our requirements.
From there the fun really began with an opportunity to build something very special.
While no doubt Lloyd has worked on many projects far exceeding what we would are able to afford, his designs enabled us to achieve a house few would hesitate to call their dream home.
Lloyds guidance through the build process was again instrumental in keeping costs under control and keeping an keen eye on small styling details that saw the house feature in one of the Countries top home magazines… more than we could ever have dreamed of.
As a family home though, living in the house day to day was effortless, not an easy thing to describe other than it felt like home instantly when we move in.
If we had to design and build a third house, I would not hesitate to contract Lloyd again and I highly recommend his services.
